It is inspiring for filmmakers like me that a great lady like Sue can keep the flame of Patrick’s light alive as a beacon for the generations of actors yet to come. We must back her in her quest to keep the greatness of Patrick relevant in today’s cynical world.

Thanks to Sue Tabashnik, the memory of someone as beautiful inside and out as Patrick Swayze will never fade. You have given us all a gift to cherish and hold dear for years to come. I’m inspired. Let’s go Swayze!

I received my copy, yesterday. Thrilled to be mentioned, along with a 10 1/2 page interview. All about my friendship with Patrick’s mother, Patsy; and telling of a few times when Buddy (Patrick) and I were together. I HIGHLY recommend this entertaining and informative read!

I am honored to be a recipient of Sue’s Acknowledgment of Gratitude in this book. Sue was a psychiatric social worker who dealt with people who were exposed to severe trauma through no fault of their own. Sue and I collaborated about her social work. In addition, I did some mentoring of her work as an author of books about Patrick Swayze and Patsy Swayze.

Sue taught me to respect Patrick—not just as a talented performer, but as a man of character and spirituality. I had known some things about Patrick because of his iconic movie performances. I feel grateful to Sue for informing me that he was much more than an actor. He helped people experience joy through his work. He also espoused and showed that it was important to put in the hard work to get what you want from life. Patrick died young. He faced his pancreatic cancer illness with grace and humanity, which will forever be a shining light for people everywhere. Sue has done so much research on Patrick and is so passionate about his philosophy of life that I think of her sometimes as Patrick’s prophet.
I encourage people to get familiar with Sue’s portraits of Patrick because they are inspirational. Sue’s latest (2025) book is PATRICK SWAYZE Still Inspiring!  Her other books include PATRICK SWAYZE The Dreamer and Patsy Swayze: Every Day, A Chance to Dance.

PATRICK SWAYZE: Still Inspiring! is an unabashed testimony to the actor’s ongoing relevance and importance long after his death. It gathers memories, stories and tributes from the entertainment industry and those who participated in his life. . . .Each individual contributes a different piece to the complex life of Swayze that highlights his personality, talents, and choices. Each reviews the many transformations Swayze undertook in his life and career, providing a full-bodied, admiring view of the man which goes beyond the typical coverages of his fame profiled in other publications.

Sue Tabashnik has written a number of books on Swayze, but PATRICK SWAYZE: Still Inspiring! is, by far, the most wide-ranging for its inclusion of all kinds of adjunct friendships and relationships that reflected his life.

Libraries adding to their Hollywood biography collections in general and looking at surveys of Swayze in particular will find PATRICK SWAYZE: Still Inspiring! a vivid, inspirational collection addition. It should intrigue both fans of Swayze and readers who might know relatively little about the man; especially with its inclusion of some 19 rare photos.

Readers will find the juxtaposition of relationships, stories of growth and achievement, and sense of fun and discovery major draws to a biography embedded in real experiences and powerful memories.

Lively, informative, and multifaceted, PATRICK SWAYZE: Still Inspiring! is a “must have” for Hollywood historians and Swayze fans.

Very proud to be a part of this new book, by Sue Tabashnik, about the life of Patrick Swayze. Sue uses some quotes from my conversation with Patrick from 2005, along with a host of others’ interviews, to paint a portrait of an artist and kind soul who left us far too soon.

Thank you for “Patrick Swayze Still Inspiring” – both my signed copy and for writing it, sharing all these great stories.

I was fortunate enough to know Patrick… or as we called him… Buddy. This book that Sue Tabashnik wrote brought back many memories of simpler times. When talent was rewarded and hard work got you there.

And nobody had more talent and worked the hardest than Patrick Swayze. His work ethic was amazing right up there with Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly. He left a mark much deeper than that pair because he was also a fine actor.

I remember him always attending acting classes with the same intensity as he did dance. He wanted to be known as a great actor. But, when Dirty Dancing came around, it was a role he could not turn down. It was made for him. And back in the studio he went.

Thank you Sue for sharing with us some great interviews from the people that knew Patrick Swayze. And there were many stories of Buddy that I didn’t know.

If you are a fan of Patrick Swayze, this book is a must.

Friend, Dance Student of Patsy Swayze

I recently received a wonderful book from the talented author Susan Tabashnik, who writes heartfelt memoirs about my cousin, the late Patrick Swayze. This book is especially cool because it includes an excerpt where I share my own experiences with Patrick and my aunt Patsy, who was my dance teacher when I was little.

The stories in this book are so much fun! They not only delve into Patrick’s incredible life but also capture the memories of those who knew him. Each page is filled with warmth and nostalgia, making it a must-read for any Swayze fan.

Whether you are a lifelong fan of Patrick Swayze or someone new to his story, this book is a must-read. It offers a unique glimpse into the life of a Hollywood icon through the eyes of those who loved him most. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a moving and inspiring read.

If you’re interested in learning more about Patrick’s journey and the impact he had on so many lives, I highly recommend checking out this book. You can find Susan on Facebook, where she shares updates on new releases and more fascinating stories about Patrick.

If you were lucky enough to know Patrick Swayze, he asked you to call him “Buddy.” His nickname fit him well, because he was a warm and caring individual. When I was growing up, “Buddy” was what we boys called our friends. It was not lightly bestowed, but had to be earned by exhibiting loyalty and congeniality. A Buddy was a friend indeed.

I knew Patrick Swayze and am proud to have called him Buddy. I am also honored to have been interviewed for Susan Tabashnik’s “Patrick Swayze Still Inspiring.” Now everyone has a chance to know him too.
The interviews from friends and colleagues of Buddy are great, and they provide insight into his many talents-actor, dancer, horseman to name just a few. Readers gain new insights into a man they know from his fine performances. But the real man was just as interesting as the characters he played.

In fact, the interview format works particularly well, because each person gives a unique perspective. Patrick’s courtesy, professionalism, and kindness are consistent themes. His uncompromising work ethic is evident. But there are unexpected surprises as well. Susan is an excellent interviewer. She asks probing questions that allow each person to tell their story. Her respect for Buddy is evident on every page.

I wish everyone who loves Patrick Swayze could have met him. Sadly, that’s no longer possible in this world. Thanks to Susan Tabashnik, readers can still indeed meet him-he lives in the pages of this book.

Sue has once again managed to make us feel as if we’ve known Patrick (Buddy) Swayze, personally. The reader will benefit from the author’s knowledge of the actor’s life and career. Her book offers a distinctive insight to the multi talented, driven, and committed soul that we lost far too soon.

What a wonderful collection for every Patrick Swayze fan!

This book is a sweet, inspiring tribute to Patrick Swayze. He was an awesome performer in movies, TV shows, Broadway shows, dance, and writing songs and singing them, and also a man of solid values. There is a lot of behind-the-scenes information from various movies and the mini-series North & South that Patrick acted in. People who knew Patrick share their memories, not just of working with Patrick, but also of their friendship and his character. This is a man who continues to inspire so many people with the “never-give-up” philosophy and way of life that he lived.

The book is written beautifully. I enjoyed it from start to finish. After growing up with the Swayze family and took dance from Patsy and Patrick (Buddy) I can honestly say I couldn’t have written a more fitting tribute to this exceptional man, mentor and friend.

I cannot fully express my gratitude and appreciation for the book Patrick Swayze: Still Inspiring! I congratulate Susan Tabashnik on producing such a well-written work that not only captures everything I thought I knew about Patrick Swayze but also reveals so much more. The honesty and sincerity with which Susan shares her experiences of meeting Patrick numerous times, and the many interviews with many of Patrick’s friends and acquaintances allowed me to imagine how he might have felt during various moments in his life and career. Her writing brings his spirit to life in a deeply moving and inspiring way. This book was a pleasure to read! Thank you, Susan

A fantastic collection of essays and interviews reflecting on Patrick “Buddy” Swayze’s life and legacy from many people throughout his life and career. It’s clear he was down to earth and kind to even the “little people” on set. In this day and age, it’s good to hear that someone is indeed as lovely and kind as they are talented.

I was especially moved by the story of his childhood friend whom he hadn’t spoken to in years but consoled her when her mother died, even as his own illness was progressing.

I never got to meet “Buddy,” but through Sue’s books, I feel like I’ve gotten to know him as so much more than a movie star.

Nicole K.

I am not a reviewer per se but I must say this book has a way with its various perspectives of Patrick Swayze, to hook one like myself and reel this reader into the depths of a unique knowing of the man. It is an intriguing thing to be acquainted with someone through so many eyes. I am really enjoying the read.
